It was a nice warm day in early April of 2015. Sam was traveling around the Balkans and he was staying at a
hostel in Kotor, Montenegro. Kathi was living in Serbia at that time studying Serbian and took time off from her studies for a week during Easter holidays and traveled to Kotor and stayed at the same hostel. We met each other for the first time here. Before we met, we crossed each others paths at least 5 times in the past seven years before we met. Kathi traveled to San Francisco in 2008 when Sam was living there. Kathi was living in Vienna when Sam stayed at least three times with a friend between 2013 and 2014 five minutes away from her. Kathi was already living in Belgrade in 2015 when Sam traveled to Belgrade. In all these instances, we were in the same city but never met each other, at least that we remember. Universe had its own way of bringing us together in Kotor on that wonderful day. From the day we met, we have been together. Our time in Kotor was filled with a lot of hikes, bike rides, and visits to nearby historic places. We cherish our time in Kotor dearly and to this day we still feel the emotions from our time we first met in Kotor. We are looking forward to visiting Kotor again in the near future.
