Indo-Austrian wedding celebration!!

Even though we already registered our marriage earlier in the year, we wanted to have a wedding celebration with all our loved ones. So we planned a wedding celebration for early August in Tirol. Even though Sam is an American by citizenship, he was born in India and his family still lives there. Kathi was born and brought-up in Austria. We wanted to have a wedding celebration with colours, lights, tastes, and traditions that represent both Indian and Austrian cultures.

We made every single invitation with hand and wrote the message and name of each invitee with hand. We picked a farm house (www.bogneraste.at) with a wonderful view. We asked everyone to try and wear colourful clothes, and show their love and joy with colours. We found a wonderful chef who agreed to cook Austrian and Indian dishes for the wedding. We made play lists for music during the wedding and for party afterwards that is from different parts of the world that both Kathi and Sam had connections with (including Indian, Austrian, French, Spanish, Serbian, and African music). We had a wonderful time sharing our love with all the lovely people who came to attend our celebration from all around the world. Sam's friend, Jay, from the U.S was the wedding speaker. And with his sense of humour, he made the celebrations even more light hearted. Sam's nieces and his sister, who came to attend the celebration from India offered to do Henna for all the guests and almost everyone took advantage of it and got one. To make it all ever more sweet, we announced during the wedding celebration to our guests that we are expecting a baby next year. It was wonderful to share this happy news with all the lovely people. It was a colourful and beautiful celebration with full of love and we keep reliving the experiences and memories from that day again and again :)
